Software developer to marine electric propulsion systems with a passion for boating
Position Description
We are looking for a software developer to join our small, free-thinking, highly efficient electric propulsion Brand, to build up our software developer department. Are you a self-managed, highly driven team player who understands the embedded software and is passionate about customer needs? Do you value the opportunity to work with an up-and-coming brand well positioned in the leisure boats business area? If so, this is the role for you!
We have an existing platform for a complete electric marine powertrain available on the market. Your work will include both prototyping of new motors and surrounding components, as well as optimizing already existing parts of this platform. The role will involve both hardware and software components, but depending on your special competence and interest, the focus is a bit flexible and can be adjusted to provide a good fit for both the company and you. As an important part of a small company working at the forefront of technical development, you will have an excellent opportunity to shape the future of the boating industry.
Located in Gothenburg, Sweden, you will report to the CTO of GSM Electric.
Responsibilities, embedded systems
To be a good fit we think that all the following qualities apply to you
- A master’s (“civilingenjör”) or bachelor’s (“högskoleingenjör”) degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics or similar
- A strong general programming knowledge
- Experience in embedded software development and/or a strong knowledge of electronics
- Excellent communication skills in English
Competencies
In addition, experience in some of the following fields or techniques would be highly qualifying
- Linux
- C
- C++
- IOT systems
- CAN communication protocol
- Electric motors and motor controllers
- Battery technology
- Testing procedures and documentation
- Work experience in automotive or other drivetrain industry
- Boating experience (either professionally or as a hobby)
